art, architecture and freedom

#fossdotin

last night I visited a cool art/architecture space in bangalore: http://jaaga.in

unfortunately, i couldn't stay because i had another commitment.

it was built with something like, for lack of better words, fire escape material.  A fishnet steel skeleton.

then it was covered by a giant heavy tarp, the type used to cover skeletal skyscrapers, i think, in bad weather, to protect the workers building the skyscrapers.  it was stenciled with giant japanese and giant lettering, which probably said something like "Makomoto Construction"..

This made a livable buliding in Bangalore.  it took 15 hours to build.

Inside w about 50 artiists and people committed to sharing . . . . Creative Commons people.

They were drinking blue wine.

Bangkok from a Headache

This pretty much sums up Bangkok: bright, loud and silly.  Thai girls dressed up as Japanese girls, mouthing the lyrics to some J-Pop song they don't understand, dancing like crazy with a zillion cameras flashing in the foreground.  In Thailand, for some reason I do not understand, Japanese schoolgirls represent the ultimate in feminine fashion, beauty, and style.  It must be the socks.
